Information How GPS Works

Wireless real-time data delivery
FL AVL units send data to FL Servers

  • Mobile Data Networks allow for real time data transmission when in coverage areas
  • Fleet Logistics utilises a number of different suppliers including Telstra, the largest wireless communications network in Australia
  • Data that is unable to be sent immediately due to lack of coverage will be stored and sent as soon as re-connection is possible
FL Servers
FL Servers receive raw data from AVL (Automatic Vehicle Locator) units and process it into user readable form.

  • Turn latitude and longitude co-ordinates into location descriptions ie: '3km SW of Grafton'
  • Process inputs and label their status ie: door open or closed, ignitions on or off
  • Send alarm email/sms as required (SMS is an option only)
  • Upload processed data to website for detailed reporting
The average time between a position being recorded, being processed by the servers and appearing on the website is under 1 minute while in a coverage area. This allows for accurate real time monitoring of vehicles.
Asset Management Online (AMO™)
Since our system is web-based you can view your data from anywhere in the world. We use encyption between our web server and your web browser to help secure your information
